Do You Know What Causes Acne?
By ACS Here 2 Help on August 18, 2011
There are millions of people looking in the mirror right now wishing they didn’t have that zit or wondering why they have all those pimples on their face. Knowing what causes acne is the first step towards curing it and being able to have completely clear skin.
If you have acne, you may have bought a product from the drugstore that claims to get rid of zits. Sadly – it probably didn’t work. Hardly any do because they don’t actually treat your acne at the root of the problem. Put simply, they don’t treat the causes.
For this reason, I thought it would be helpful to go over the main causes of acne so we can understand what we need to treat to be able to have clear skin.
1) Inflammation of the skin – I’m putting this one at the top of the list because many people aren’t aware that this is such a major factor. Inflammation of the skin is extremely common for acne sufferers, even if you can’t always see it. Inflammation can happen “under” the skin which means you might not be able to detect it.
The problem is that when your skin is suffering from inflammation, it doesn’t have the strength to also fight off acne. You need to make sure your skin cells are in tip-top shape in order to be able to stop acne from popping up.
Lastly, inflammation will make any existing pimples look a lot worse. When you see bright red pimples that stand out, you can be sure that they are a result of inflammation.
2) Excess Oil on the Skin – This is another major cause. When your sebaceous glands (skin glands) produce too much oil, you skin pores become clogged – this leads to breakouts.
If you are ever going to get rid of acne, you absolutely must use a treatment that eliminates the excess oil on your skin, unclogs your pores and controls future oil production.
3) Acne Causing Bacteria – Studies have linked specific types of bacteria to acne. This bacteria can easily build up on your skin throughout the day and has the potential to cause some nasty damage to your skin.
You need to make sure that you kill off this bacteria before any breakouts happen. Make sure the treatment you use specifically targets this type of bacteria.
In order to get rid of acne, you have to make sure you are treating all of the causes. That’s why the products in the stores don’t work – they treat your zits one pimple at a time instead of actually fixing what is causing them.
There are treatments out there that will treat all causes and help get rid of your acne in just a few weeks if you stick to them. They work as a “system” and attack your acne from all angles.
Knowing what causes acne is half the battle in getting clear skin. The other half is doing something about it! By treating all of the causes, you will see drastic improvements in your acne in just a few days and have completely clear skin in just a few weeks. All the best!
